Turkey Quitline — ALO 171

About this quitline

Turkey has a free national quit-smoking line run by the Ministry of Health (T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı): ALO 171, the Sigara Bırakma Danışma Hattı. You can reach it by dialling 171, where live advisers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calls are free from landlines; from mobiles they are charged at your operator's normal rate. Advisers assess your nicotine dependence using the Fagerström test, help build a personal quit plan, and then call you back over the following year to support you. They can also book an appointment for you at one of the country's free smoking-cessation clinics, where both the examination and the medication are provided at no cost.
