View detailsSlovenia's national stop-smoking support is run by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). You can call the free advisory telephone 080 27 77, which is open every day of the year, including weekends and holidays, in two windows: 7–10 in the morning and 17–20 in the evening. Trained counsellors talk through your smoking, suggest the best way to quit, and point you to other help. Calls are anonymous unless you ask for proactive follow-up. The main route to quitting in Slovenia, though, is the free group workshops and individual counselling offered at health-promotion centres (Zdravstveno-vzgojni centri and Centri za krepitev zdravja) inside health centres (zdravstveni domovi) across the country. No doctor's referral is needed.
