About this quitline

In Singapore, free quit-smoking support is provided by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) through the QuitLine on 1800 438 2000, where trained Quit Consultants help callers plan a quit attempt, manage cravings and choose treatment. The flagship I Quit 28-Day Countdown is open to anyone aged 18+ who lives or works in Singapore; participants can earn HPB eVouchers (S$50 at 28 nicotine-free days, S$30 at 3 months and S$20 at 6 months) and choose between SMS-based or tele-counselling support, with the I Quit mobile app and over 150 retail pharmacy touchpoints across the island. Subsidised face-to-face cessation services are available at polyclinics and under the Healthier SG framework, and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) can be obtained from community pharmacists.

Is help to quit smoking free in Singapore?
The QuitLine, the I Quit 28-Day Countdown and self-help resources from HPB are free. Face-to-face cessation services at polyclinics and Healthier SG clinics are heavily subsidised for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and additional subsidies apply for medication when a smoker meets the clinical criteria (for example a Fagerström score of 3 or above). NRT is available over the counter from community pharmacists.

The QuitLine on 1800 438 2000 is staffed during HPB office hours, generally Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, excluding public holidays. Outside those hours, you can leave a callback request, sign up for the I Quit Programme online at healthhub.sg, or use the I Quit mobile app for round-the-clock self-help tools.

What languages does the QuitLine support?
HPB designs the I Quit Programme for Singapore's multilingual population, and supporting materials such as the Quit For Life booklet are published in all four official languages: English, Mandarin Chinese, Malay and Tamil. Quit Consultants on 1800 438 2000 are typically able to assist callers in English and Mandarin, and can usually arrange Malay or Tamil-speaking support on request when you call back.
